This review was September 18 has been updated. I have my game today and MPI Sherlock Holmes as I hoped, it looks and sounds fantastic! I’ve seen a lot of the crowd. You will not be disappointed! I am sending e-mails from a few years now need MPI Home Video, they recreate this series and make them available on DVD. I am so happy to have finally. Two episodes in their original version of “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”, including “The Men Dancing” and “The Naval Treaty”, has had problems in some of the audio soundtrack. They range from the original tapes remastered Granada in England. This led to an image and sound quality impressive. MPI thank you! What can be said about Jeremy Brett? Many people, including myself consider it the definitive Sherlock Holmes. His way of gestures and the overall presentation shows clearly that he has read and Conan Doyle was well aware of his alter ego. The stories are great and this series has been fortunate that the combination of great acting, writing, music, production and value. What a pleasure to have the entire series in one set. For twelve discs, including premiums, the price is right. If you like this series or simply enjoy Jeremy Brett, you have to buy one of this series.

In his foreword to Bantam Holmes Sherlock: the complete novels and stories, “Loren Estleman called the relationship between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson literature warmest, most symbiotic and timeless: the law. Jeremy Brett was the only actor who ever managed to perfectly portray Holmes’s ambition , biting sense of humor ironic and apparently indestructible self-control without dominating the same time concealed the negligence of his sincere friendship with Dr. Watson and the weaknesses of a surface by its overall intellectual abilities. The series is the title of the four cycles of shorter episodes – “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Return of Sherlock Holmes, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes and the collection of Sherlock Holmes” – four of the five collections of short stories, self-proclaimed detective with London consulting only “(published in 1892, 1905, 1894 and 1927, respectively), which is nominally in failing Collection 1917″ His reverence “, which, however – but for its cover story – fully represented in each episode in about four other rings distributed. Although the consolidation rates are not necessarily original story collections Conan Doyle match and the series of the premise – Holmes and Watson shared the rental of rooms at 221b Baker Street – not even the beginning of the “Adventures True, this well-produced series is a must have for any fan of mystery. For many Sherlockians – Holmesians or if you prefer – Jeremy Brett performance of the first Detective Consulting was the final presentation. And while this series has its flaws and deviations from the original text, it is still probably the best cinematic representation available.
I saw the original versions of MPI, and a Japanese / Chinese funds, without question, this new series offers the best image quality and sound. (Maybe the PAL version was published some years earlier in Britain is slightly higher, but I doubt we can really see the difference.) Consistency in the menu screens and strong design of the packaging is also an improvement over previous versions.
My complaints are few and rather insignificant, but they are as follows:
1) There is no pattern, but in reality, fewer features * that the original DVD releases.
2) The images on the faces of the DVDs have been chosen somewhat arbitrarily, for example Hardwicke is on a disk that is certainly Burke. And
3), the series itself, while the second half of the race, a history of more than “basic” on the work of Conan Doyle, and with questionable results. “The Last Vampire” is an excellent example.
In short, if you already own the original DVD versions, and you are satisfied that the picture quality, you can buy a package that could happen. For all other followers of the series is a must.

It is a story of contrasts two players fine, Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett. Brett joked that, as an actor, he has rarely been in the 20th Century, and never allowed in the present. In many ways it was a return to an earlier era, in addition to personality characteristics of others. It has also been suffering from a manic-depressive. Also on board had a speech impediment as a child, for which surgery, then had serious about his diction and articulation (what works, why, no doubt thanks to its commitment in this regard, his control everybody was finally feel like it).
However, Basil Rathbone sword fencing, sports and elegant, a talented actor who loved the stage. Rathbone Holmes a fine in my opinion and most of his 14 films like this are the most famous detective fun. But when reading Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the spirit, I would say that certainly played a conspirator more complicated than people of Mr. Rathbone. Mr. Brett has brought much that life becomes a man, I support, and, at least in part, to some extent, there is no doubt that Brett helped by the experiments of neat as a talented but disturbed individual. Finally, should not be geniuses seem cut from the same cloth as most people in the sense that the anomalies appear to be the exceptional talent and is little more possible. Sherlock Holmes was such an extraordinary character. What makes Mr. Brett performances are so interesting. Jeremy Brett brings certainly demonstrated the depth of a true character Sherlock Holmes-type, and Mr. Holmes made a lot more real. After all these wonderful episodes that you be inclined to be happy to replace the hearing with Mr Brett for Sean Connery in James Bond, has been less successful and, accordingly, Mr. Brett, finally, the role for him more measurable /> appropriate and in which it exceeded thoroughly.
I bought the five ex-box games a year ago, and looked several times, but I always watch some episodes feel cheated. to fill the adventure, the box back together (the first 24 episodes and two movies) were in poor condition and it appeared they were transferred to an old VHS-DVD had someone in their basement, and it sounded so. The photo was granular, and some episodes of the buzz.
This kit is what I expected: I have found in the mail yesterday from the MPI and have some of the worst episodes of the research examined the old rate. . . and they look wonderful. MPI transfer of all the episodes from the original negative and cleaned up the menus every episode and film, cleaned, and 12 discs in two cases of high quality with a superb service, heavy case. It even comes with a booklet which contains information on every episode: a brief history is in the wings as well as information on the origin. This is the box that I wanted to buy a year ago, and MPI is the choice would have released in the first place. But better late than never. Fantasy: Who is a fan should buy, and should be among the first five boxes to sell and buy. It’s really the complete series of Granada.
